L'auteur de la recherche, partant de l'hypothèse que la pensée et l'action de Carlo Cattaneo font l'objet d'un mythe en partie injustifié, a essayé de faire la part des choses.Pour ce faire, il s'est penché sur les origines culturelles de ce journaliste italien du XIXe siècle, en donnant beaucoup de relief aux influences du milieu familial et de la religion (un aspect jamais étudié chez ce journaliste), et au rapport avec l'argent, utilisant ensuite les résultats trouvés pour déterminer les motivations profondes de l'action et de la pensée de Cattaneo. En effet, cette méthode permet de séparer ce qui est le fruit d'une démarche originale de ce qui n'est qu'un prolongement de la culture familiale.Cette recherche fait la lumière sur la pensée profonde de Cattaneo, notamment jusqu'à 1848, année de rupture en raison de l'insurrection de Milan qu'il a personnellement dirigée et qui bouleverse sa vie.Les résultats de cette partie de la recherche, fondée sur l'analyse de textes et de courriers particulièrement significatifs, sont validés par une analyse statistique qui prend pour objet l'abondante bibliographie existante sur Cattaneo. Par cette méthode inédite, il est possible de comparer l'oeuvre avec la critique, ce qui laisse apparaître des spécificités intéressantes, confirmées par la mise en parallèle avec des statistiques bibliographiques analogues effectuées sur 8 autres personnalités ayant eu un rôle important dans le "Risorgimento". |

The author of this research assumed that Carlo Cattaneo's thought and action were the subject of a partly unjustified myth, tried to distinguish the true from the false.For this, he analyzed the cultural background of this 19th century Italian journalist, by emphasizing the influences of his family origins and of religion (a topic never before examined in this journalist's works), as well as his relationship with money. He was then able to process the results of his investigation to determine the underlying motivations of Cattaneo's action and thought. Indeed, this method allows to make the distinction between the fruit of an original proceeding and the consequences of his family's culture.This research throws light on Cattaneo's innermost thoughts, in particular up to 1848, a turning point because of the insurrection in Milan that he personally lead and which completely changed his life.The results of this part of the search, based on the analysis of particularly significant writings and letters, are validated by a statistical analysis that covers the abundant bibliography that exists on Cattaneo. By this innovative method, it is possible to compare the work with the criticism: it unveils interesting particularities, confirmed by the comparison with similar bibliographic statistics performed on eight other personalities that lead a role in the "Risorgimento" movement. |
