L’architecture est à la fois un processus de communication en elle-même et un objet de médiatisation. La thèse a pour objectif de comprendre cette double nature, leurs différences de rythmes et de logiques, leurs interférences et les difficultés que cela génère. Les médiations culturelles, politiques et urbaines seront abordées entre temps long de l’histoire et temps du projet, discours des acteurs et discours de la presse. La problématique s’articule ainsi, entre la capacité de l’architecture à dire - le discours par l’architecture (topos)- et la médiatisation supportée par le projet – le discours sur l’architecture (logos). Dépassant l’idée de langage architectural, pour aborder le faire architectural comme un ensemble de signes interprétables, nous examinerons la généalogie d’un bâtiment public, le musée des Sciences et de Société de Lyon. La mise en visibilité du bâtiment public dépendante des relations site-forme, site-fonction, forme-fonction, évolue et qualifie l’action politique dans l’espace physique entre ostentation et banalisation. Une forme architecturale dit la pensée politique d’une époque. L’architecture est un média politique. |

Architecture is at the same time a process of communication in itself and an object of mediatization. The thesis aims to understand this double nature, their differences of rhythms and logics, their interferences and the difficulties generated. The cultural, political and urban mediations will be approached between long time of the history and time of the project, speech of the actors and speech of the press. The problem is articulated thus, between the capacity of architecture to saying - the speech by architecture (topos) - and the mediatization supported by the project - the speech on architecture (logos). Exceeding the idea of architectural language, to approach the "do it" architectural like a whole of interpretable signs, we will examine the genealogy of a public building, the museum of Sciences and Society of Lyon. The setting of visibility of the public building dependent on the relations site-form, site-function, form-function, evolves and qualifies the political action in physical space between ostentation and vulgarizing.
