Depuis la chute du régime communiste, la Roumanie espère être intégrée dans l’Union Européenne. A cette fin, une importante série de réformes se poursuit, qui touchent à peu près tous les secteurs de la politique (notamment la vie parlementaire), de l’économie (réforme des infrastructures, ouverture aux capitaux étrangers, aides de l’Europe), et de la société (profonds changements de la mentalité dus à la circulation des personnes et à la liberté d’expression). Mais, plus que tout, les mutations de l’information indiquent les transformations actuelles. La liberté de la presse, acquise dès la Révolution de 1989, a produit une transformation de l’identité nationale qui, après s’être caractérisée par un anticommunisme très vif, s’est tournée vers l’Occident au point que l’intégration européenne constitue l’horizon majeur de l’information. Les pratiques journalistiques se sont également transformées pour cette raison : la question de l’Europe a fait naître un corps de journalistes spécialisés, d’éditorialistes, et des suppléments consacrés à l’intégration européenne. Cette thèse comporte l’analyse générale des transformations majeures de la période 1989 – 2004 et l’analyse exhaustive de la période 2002-2005 dans dix quotidiens nationaux (dont les cinq les plus importants). Elle comporte également des entretiens avec des journalistes spécialisés en intégration européenne pour les dix publications analysées. En évaluant les contenus des dix quotidiens, on a identifié l’an 2000 comme étant le premier moment important de la prise de conscience journalistique de l’importance du sujet de l’intégration européenne. Pendant toute la période de la transition politique et sociale, l’Union Européenne est restée l’un des objets les plus importants du discours médiatique. En 2002, le grand retard de la Roumanie et de la Bulgarie concernant les négociations repousse leur adhésion vers une date plus éloignée, ce qui rend la temporalité de l’attente le fondement du discours des journalistes roumains. 2007 ou 2008 ? La date de l’adhésion de la Roumanie à l’Union Européenne reste incertaine et les transformations du discours des journalistes roumains en vue de l’intégration européenne révèlent les spécificités d’une événement médiatique durable, doublé par la spécialisation des journalistes en ce domaine et l’émergence des rubriques « Europe / Intégration ». |

Since the fall of the communist regime, Romania had hoped to integrate into the European Union. In order to achieve this aim, an important set of reforms had took place and they had touched almost all segments of political life (especially the Parliamentary life), economy (reforms of the infrastructure, the markets` opening towards the foreign capital, the help from Europe) and society (deep changes of the mentalities as a result of the fee movement of persons and ideas). But, first of all, the changes of information pointed out the present transformation. The freedom of the press, gained during the Revolution of 1989, had lead to a transformation of the national identity, which was before that characterized by a string anticommunism, and now is reversed toward the West to the point that the European integration became the major horizon of the information. For this reason, the journalistic practices had changed themselves: The issue of Europe had lead to the apparition of a corpus of professionalized journalists, leading articles and newspapers’ supplements covering the European integration of the country. Thesis analyzed the major changes of the 1989-2004 period and its particular focus is on the analysis of 2002-2005 period in ten national newspapers (from which five are the most important Romanian newspapers). It also presented the interviews with the specialized journalists in European integration from the ten newspapers included in the analysis. Through the analysis of the ten newspapers’ content we had identified the year 2000 as the first important moment in the process of media awareness of the importance of the European integration issue. During the entire period of social and political transition, the European Union had remained one of the most important objects of the media discourse. In 2002, the great delay of Romania and Bulgaria regarding the negotiations had lead to the postponing of their adhesion at a future date, and this had made of the temporality of waiting the basis of the Romanian journalists: 2007 or 2008? The date of Romania’s adhesion at the European Union has remained uncertain and the transformations of the Romanian journalists in the view of the European integration had revealed the peculiarities of a durable media event, which is doubled by journalists’ specialization in this field and the apparitions and the development of newspapers’ sections: « Europe / Integration ». |
