| Résumé français : | Cette thèse décrit les processus par lesquels un sujet parvient à « construire » son identité, à s’éprouver et à se penser lui-même, d’abord en présence de l’objet, puis dans la relation de soi à soi qui en est l’héritière. Pour penser cette problématique nous nous appuyons sur trois notions clés, à savoir l’identité, la réflexivité et le double avant de déboucher sur la mise en perspective du concept de « double transitionnel ». Ainsi, nous soutenons que le double est la figure par laquelle l’identité se transitionnalise, c'est-à-dire la figure par laquelle le sujet se saisit lui-même subjectivement, à partir de la rencontre de l’objet investi comme double de soi. Cette proposition théorique générale nous amène à explorer les enjeux identitaires du sujet soumis à un impératif de réorganisation, en particulier lorsque le sujet bute ou échoue à se réfléchir au sein de son miroir intérieur. L’exploration clinique des troubles identitaires permet a contrario de reconstruire les étapes de la « trajectoire identitaire et subjective en double » qui conduit à l’organisation interne d’un « double transitionnel » et à la reconnaissance de différentes formes d’altérité. Cette trajectoire renvoie à deux temps fondamentaux de la relation en double : d’une part, la rencontre précoce avec un objet-double trouvé / créé constitutif du narcissisme primaire, et d’autre part, l’investissement d’un objet-double détruit / trouvé permettant la découverte et l’introjection de la fonction réflexive de l’objet, lors du passage au narcissisme secondaire. De cette modélisation se dégagent plusieurs propriétés du double transitionnel, dont l’intégration au cours du développement sous-tend l’établissement d’un miroir psychique interne vivant, lieu du rapport à soi. Dans l’histoire de la construction de la subjectivité, ce registre intermédiaire du double s’étend donc depuis les formes archaïques de l’éprouvé de soi jusqu’aux formes élaborées de l’autoreprésentation. |

| Résumé anglais : | This work is concerned with the description of the process through which the subject manages to build his identity, to feel or to think his own self, first in relation to the object, then in the connection between himself and himself which is derived from this. To deal with these issues, we have drawn on three notions: identity, reflexivity and the double, before putting the concept of transitional double into perspective. Our thesis would thus be that the double is the pattern through which the subject’s identity is transitionalized, that is the pattern by means of which the subject subjectively takes possession of himself, thanks to the object invested in as a double of himself. This general theoretical hypothesis brings us to explore what the stakes are concerning the subject’s identity when he is submitted to reorganizing himself, especially when he finds it difficult or fails to reflect himself in his internal mirror. Clinical observation of identity disturbances enables one, on the contrary, to reconstruct the stages of the progress of the subject’s identity in his relation to the object-as-double, leading to the internal organization of a transitional double and to the recognition of different forms of otherness. Such progress refers to two basic periods of the connection to the double: first the subject’s encounter, at an early stage, with an object-as-double found / created, constitutive of primary narcissism, then his investment in an object-as-double destroyed / found, making possible the discovery and introjection of the reflexive function of the object, during the transition to secondary narcissism. From this modelling several properties of the transitional double can be deduced, whose integration conditions the creation of a living internal psychic mirror, basic to the relation to the self. In the process of the construction of subjectivity, this intermediate register of the transitional double extends from archaic forms of affects to elaborate forms of self-representation. |
